Gestation calculators for livestock

Pick the animal. Put in the date she was bred. You get the due date, how wide the normal window really is, and the handful of dates worth writing on the calendar between now and then.

How the species compare

Bar length is the whole pregnancy, drawn to the same scale. A sow is done in under four months; a mare can go past twelve.

Solid bar is the whole pregnancy. The darker tip is the window she could actually give birth in.

Why the due date is a window, not a day

Every chart prints a single number — 283 days for cattle, 150 for goats, 147 for sheep. A cow bred on the same morning as her pen mate can calve a week earlier or a week later, and both are entirely normal. Drag the slider on any calculator here and you can watch how far a few days either way moves the date.

So these calculators give you the date and the window. Plan labour, pen space and vaccinations around the window. Circle the date so you know when to start looking.

Charts you can print

Every calculator page carries the full table underneath it, month by month, formatted to print clean on one or two sheets. Tape it inside the barn door and you do not need a phone at all.

It works with no signal

Any page you have opened once stays on your phone and works with no signal. No account, no email, nothing to install — though your phone will offer to add it to the home screen if you want it there.
